Jean started playing piano at the age of 5, and started lessons at 7. She studied piano from age 7 through college, and continues to challenge herself in her playing techniques.
Jean graduated from St. Olaf College, with a degree in Music. She has been accompanying since 8th grade. Jean has accompanied all varieties of music - theater, vocal, instrumental, chamber, choral, orchestral - as well as all ages. She currently works as a freelance accompanist, coach and music director at a large number of venues. Her work in the last 5 years has included many coaching/accompanying jobs with middle and high school students, accompanying and music directing for high school and community theaters, and accompanying for school and community choirs. She has also worked in schools as a choral department paraprofessional, which included accompanying choirs (K - 12th grade) and supporting staff in the department, as well as general maintenance of music libraries and clerical work.
