Korliss’s love for music began at the age of five when she started playing the piano. From those early years, her passion for music has only grown stronger. She took piano lessons with Edwina Hunter, whose guidance helped her develop a deep connection to the instrument. Not long after, she started learning the violin, initially studying at Mike's Music and later with Dr. Jeffrey Howard starting at age 13.
As a child, Korliss’s dedication was recognized through multiple awards from the National Piano Guild, including the Paderewski Award and the Advanced Bach Medal. These accomplishments reflected her commitment to both technique and musical expression.
While in college, Korliss played violin as a principal in the Bucknell Orchestra and continued her studies with Dr. Marcus Smolensky and Dr. Paul Grobey. She also studied piano with Dr. Qing Jiang. Korliss earned her Bachelor’s in Music from Bucknell University in 2020, solidifying her foundation as both a musician and an educator.
Now, Korliss is passionate about sharing her love of music with others. She enjoys teaching and inspiring students, and she also substitutes with the Columbia Orchestra.
