I have accompanied people for music exams all the way to grade 8. I have a PGDip (Dist) in piano performance from the Royal College of Music as well as LTCL and ARCM diplomas and grade 8 ABRSM piano with distinction.

I am also a qualified primary school teacher and piano teacher who is DBS checked.

Having accompanied and taught for a number of years as well as needing accompanists for my own performances as a string player many years ago, I understand how it feels to suddenly hear a piano playing alongside your own playing and I am able to put children (and adults) at ease quickly so they can deliver the best performance they can.

My fees are in line with Musicians’ Union rates and include a rehearsal in advance of performance day.

I can also provide mp3 downloads of piano accompaniments for you to practice along to. My mp3 downloads act as a virtual accompanist. Getting used to playing your pieces over the top of them will prepare you for hearing, and performing alongside, a pianist during your music exam.
