George Felty is currently the new organist at Christ Church(UCC) in Des Plaines, Illinois. In addition, Mr. Felty teaches piano at Naperville Music and does home travel for lessons as well. Previously, Mr. Felty was the organist at First United Methodist Church in La Grange, Illinois where he worked with Gary Wilhelm and before moving to Chicago was music director and organist at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 2003-2009. Mr. Felty has a Master of Church Music and Organ Degree from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois where his principal teacher was Dr. Steven Wente. He also has a Master of Music Degree from Norfolk State University in Virginia where he did organ work with Dr. Allen Shaffer and Dr. Carl Haywood. His undergraduate degree was from Concord University in West Virginia with additional studies in piano and organ with Herman Godes and Dr. Clyde English. While a student at West Virginia University, Mr. Felty was a vocal coach accompanist for Francis Yeend and Jon Crain, master teachers and artists with the Metropolitan Opera. Mr. Felty has done concerts at the Washington National Cathedral, Creative Arts Center at West Virginia University, Performing Arts Center at Towson State University where he was accompanist for the choral society, Alexander Arts Center at Concord University where he accompanied the Concord Collegiate Singers, and former accompanist for the Norfolk State University Concert Choir. Mr. Felty is currently an active member of the Fox Valley American Guild of Organists.

Fees

$ 60.00 Dollars Per Hour
I am available to play weddings and funerals. My fee is normally $125-150 for funerals and $200-250 for weddings.
