The pianist Aglaia Tarantino is much in demand as a chamber musician and accompanist in her native Milan and in London where she now lives. She won prizes in many national and international competitions in whilst studying with Vincenzo Balzani in Milan including the prize for best accompanist at the Conservatory G. Verdi of Milan, before moving to London for postgraduate study with Clifford Benson and Ian Brown at the Royal Academy of Music.
She also attended the the International Chamber Music Academy Trio di Trieste studying with D. de Rosa, R. Zanettovich, M. Jones and E. Bronzi.
Chamber music performances have taken her to many important festivals in Italy, all over Europe and also as far Japan and Egypt.
As a soloist she has played with several orchestras in Italy , Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra ( cond. R. Polanstri ), G.B.Sammartini Orchestra ( cond. F.Borali ) and Piccola Sinfonica di Milano ( cond. S.M.Lucarelli) and has given premières of important new chamber music works.
A new CD of 20C flute music with Andrea Marco ( principal at the Teatro Regio in Turin and Noord Netherlands Orkest will be released in April2010, distributed exclusively by the Italian magazine Falaut. www.aglaiatarantino.com
