Slovakian pianist Andrea Kmecová performs regularly as soloist, vocal and instrumental accompanist, and chamber musician in London and across Europe.
She has played at leading venues and festivals in the UK including St Martin-in-the-Fields, St Jamess Piccadilly, The Royal Overseas League, the House of Lords and the Oxford Lieder Festival. In Europe venues have included the Kaiserhof Residenz in Munich and the Royal Palace in Madrid, where she played a concert for Her Majesty The Queen Sofia.
Andrea participated in Patricia Hammonds CD Our Lovely Day, released in 2011 with Universal and played on the BBC Radio 2 and 3. Andrea has performed on BBC2, Slovak National Radio, Slovak Television, National Cypriot Television and ATV Turkish Television. Earlier this year she recorded a session with Jamie Cullum for his BBC4 radio programme Jamie Cullums Piano Pilgrimage.
Andrea has worked as rèpètiteur for several productions, including The Marriage of Figaro (Opera Nova), La Finta Semplice, Hänsel und Gretel (Opera at Home), Carmen (Impact Opera), Rinaldo (Trinity College Opera Ensemble). Last year she gave a London premiere of Astor Piazzollas tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires at the Riverside Studios.
Andrea works as a staff accompanist at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is a supporter and performer for Lost Chord, the charity that provides therapeutic interactive concerts for Alzheimer and Dementia sufferers across England and she has performed for the Council for Music in Hospitals.
