I trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, which is now named the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland gaining a BA in Music Performance in 1987. I also gained an FTCL post-graduate level solo recital diploma in 20I5. I have experience of working with singers and instrumentalists at a professional level, including lieder and art song, opera and musical theatre. I was an official accompanist for Glasgow Music Festival 2005-12 and for Ayrshire Music Festival. I was rehearsal pianist for Helensburgh Oratorio Choir for sixteen years, from 2004-2020. I have given solo, duo and chamber music recitals across the UK. I have excellent sight-reading skills and am happy to play for auditions, recitals, choirs, ballet classes, examinations and diplomas. I have previously been a ballet accompanist for Scottish Ballet Steps Out company and for The Dance School of Scotland in Knightswood, Glasgow for several years. I have performed at international conferences in Porto and Caldas da Rainha as accompanist to the vocal ensemble Scottish Voices and recently recorded with them. I have also studied French and German to degree level gaining an MA Joint Honours from Glasgow University in 1997. I am able to offer lessons in pronunciation for singers in these languages if required. I am also a qualified Person-Centred counsellor and a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)and can offer artists help with personal and performance issues.
