Bang Lang, a solo and collaborative concert pianist now residing in Orange County, California, received the "Teacher of the Year" award from the Iowa State Music Teacher Association (IAMTA) in 2016 and was the chair of Theory for that state-wide organization (part of MTNA). She was an Associate Professor at www.dwci.edu (2006-16), and was President to the Faculty Senate.

After touring across Canada as the winner of the Eckhardt-Gramatte National Competition, with a program of contemporary Canadian music, Bang Lang Do discovered the joy of presenting new works in an engaging way to an audience. Since then, she has premiered new works by Canadian and American composers: Her Concordance Ensemble commissioned new works by Midwest composers such as Patricia Morehead, David Vayo, Amy Dunker, and gave demo-lectures, workshops and concerts on modern composers at new music festivals, universities, concert series and private homes.

Bang Lang Do has received prizes from national and international competitions such as the Stepping Stone International, the CMC (national Canadian Music Competition), the Joanna Hodges International, The Missouri Southern International, the Baldwin, the "Prix d'Europe", and the “Journée de la Musique Française." Bang Lang has been recorded by the Radio-Canada and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (C.B.C.) in her debuts at various venues in Montreal as part of radio programs such as "Les Jeunes Artistes," "La Voix du Maître," "Radio Concert," "Début Series," "Music from Montreal," and "Arts Tonight." As winner of competitions, she played concerti with the Quebec Conservatory orchestra , the University of Montreal orchestra, and the Houston Civic Orchestra.

She is recipient of many awards and grants from organizations such as the Canadian Arts Council, the ministry of cultural affairs of Canada and France, Faculté des étudesSupérieures, Fonds des Amis de l'Art and FCAR (Fonds pour la formation de Chercheurs et l'Aide à la Recherche.)

Her Master and Doctoral degrees are from the University of Montreal. She is an Associate of the Royal College of Music in London, England, (ARCM) graduating with highest honours. She also obtained an unanimous “Premier Prix” in Concours, Piano performance, Solfege and Dictee, and a Diplome d’Etudes Superieurs (DESS) from the Conservatory of music of Quebec in Montreal. Bang Lang has been trained in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Suzuki, and believes in integration of the body and music through “Creative Motion”, “Body Mapping” and “Feldenkrais” methods.
