I have played the piano and speed skated for the past twenty years. I grew up in Southern California but went to Utah to become an elite speed skater. I won the 2011 National Age Group Speed Skating Championships.
I have a great deal of experience in piano and vocal music. In 1998, I won Kiwanis Solo Competition for vocal singers at John Adams Middle School in Santa Monica, CA. I have participated in choirs from middle school through college. Some of the choirs that I have participated in include Madrigal Singers, Norseman Honor Choir, Viking Ensemble, Concert Chorale, and many others as well. In 2003, I graduated with a high school diploma from Orange County High School of the Arts. In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Music: Piano Performance degree from the University of Utah. I accompanied various singers and other instrumentalists throughout my college years. I have played the piano for the Chancel Choir at Trinity United Methodist Church for the past five years and have played for approximately one church service per week during the past year. I taught one student during a school year as part of a piano pedagogy class. I substituted an after school music class once a week for three months. I feel that my educational and music experience will contribute towards my ability to be a good accompanist.
