Cynthia has regularly accompanied the Chorale and Jazz Choirs in Tyler ISD, on piano and keyboards, and worked as a piano accompanist for solo voice and band students at UIL competitions. Since moving to the Dallas area, she has accompanied students at various ISD UIL and in-house competitions.
Cynthia has strong sightreading skills and the ability to master a large volume of music in a short time. She learned 32 scores of music in under two weeks, accompanying 80 beginning to advanced students in one in-house competition. The works included Corelli's Air and Dance, Telemann's Sonata in F, Handel's Siciliana and Giga in d, Handel's Gavotte in E flat, and other Baroque Sonatas, Gavottes, Bourrees, and Gigas; Rossini's Prelude, Theme and Variations in C, Stamitz Concerto No. 3 in B flat, and other Classical works by Haydn and Beethoven; Bizet's Entr'acte in E flat, Gliere's Russian Sailor Dance in A flat, and other Romantic works; Bernstein's Americana, Ostranky's Canzonetta and Giga in f, Hovey & Leonard's Gypsy Moods in b flat, and other Modern works.
Cynthia studied piano at the college level during her studies at Rice University and continues to work in the music industry, offering lessons, coaching, and working as a piano accompanist. She began playing the piano when she was six under the tutelage of Grace Mueller. At age 10 she was the virtuoso pianist with the East Texas Symphony during their spring concerts, performing Mozart's piano Concerto in D. At age 12 she won a concerto competition, competing against college students, and performed Bach's piano Concerto in d with the Marshall Symphony. She expanded her skills, studying the pipe organ under Richard Herr and performing preludes and postludes as guest organist at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler, Texas.

Fees
$ 50.00 Dollars Per Hour
Fees vary according to the type of accompaniment provided, the length and difficulty of the score, and the amount of time between receipt of the score and the performance date.
For competitions, the average fee is $50/student for a moderate score of less than 8 pages with receipt of score three weeks prior to performance, and includes 2 - 15 minute rehearsals and the performance (excludes travel expenses). For very simple scores, i.e. 2-3 pages simple accompaniment, the fee is $25/student and includes 2-15 minute rehearsals and performance.
For 1/2 day or whole day competitions, accompanying more than 25 students with varying abilities, the fee is $40/student if all scores are received three weeks before performance date. Additional fee per scores exceeding 8 pages/scores received late.
