I am a mainly self-taught pianist, though I have an LRAM to my name and have studied with Ronald Stevenson. I have been accompanying classical instrumentalists and singers, cabaret and jazz singers, and musical theatre and opera since I was a teenager (some years ago). It is my particular interest and skill, to which many singers would attest.
I currently work as a piano teacher and dance accompanist as well as being a cabaret accompaniist and occasional musical director. I am a very good sight reader and also a fluent and imaginative improviser in various genres including jazz.
I have a particular interest in late romantic and early twentieth century music, and in European cabaret songs. But I am happy to take on any musical task for which you might need a reliable, affable, fast-learning and highly competent pianist.
I have a good Kawai stage piano, though needless to say I much prefer to play a real piano if at all possible.
