Pianist Diego Mingolla graduated from Hugo Wolf Superior School for Accompanists in Acquasparta and Conservatorio "G. Verdi" and University "DAMS" in Torino, later honing his skills in masterclasses with Helmut Deutsch and Antonio Ballista. Specializing in performance practice of chamber music and opera, Diego has forged important artistic collaborations with artists such as Mirella Freni, Barbara Frittoli, Lucio Gallo, Manuela Custer, Laura Claycomb, Francis Keeping, Fiorenza Cossotto and Rockwell Blake. He has acted as the collaborative pianist for the International Sommerakademie Mozarteum in Salzburg, L'Accademia della Voce in Piemonte and the L. Perosi Academy for Post Graduate Music Studies in Biella. Very active in the theater world, he has been esteemed as an onstage pianist, composer, arranger and musical consultant, working with such theater makers as Davide Livermore, Arturo Brachetti, Willy Landin and John Turturro, and with the Children's Theater Foundation in Torino. He composed and performed the soundscape for Turin's Metro and participated in the construction of MUSLI - the School and Children's Book Museum in Turin. He won the Audience Prize at the sixth European contest organized by the "Strade del Cinema" Festival dedicated to silent movies accompanied live. He has been musical consultant and performer in the National "Luigi Pirandello" Festival since 2010. He has participated in the National Orchesta of India's 12th Celebrity Season, organized by the NCPA (National Centre for Performing Arts) in Mumbai, in the role of chorus master and correpetiteur; he was also guest soloist, coach and conductor with the State Philharmonic of Kazakistan and their chorus "Chapella" in the 2012/2013 season. For the same forces, he composed "Psalm 150," given in their inaugural season. In 2009 he took part in the Quintet "Senestesia" in a tour of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. He is pianist in the "Orchestre de Chambre des Hautes Alpes" conducted by m° Jean-Christophe Keck. He has recorded "Glocal Sound - piano works," "Off stage" and "Ailleurs," both dedicated to vocal chamber music.
