A graduate of the Russian Academy of Music by Gnessins, Mr. Korneev is a freelance accompanist. He is currently coordinating the Department of Collaborative Piano at Jonh J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University.
Accompanying experience: staff accompanist at University of Texas at San Antonio as well as principal accompanist at San Antonio Lyric Opera.
As a solo pianist Dmitri spent several years giving recitals throughout Russia, Greece, Italy and United States. His performances in the States included such prestigious concert halls as Carnegie Hall and United Nations Concert Hall in New York.
Mr. Korneev also participated in master classes held by Claude Frank and Arkady Aronov as well as in La Belle Epoque Festival in New York.
In 1998 he became a laureate of the International Piano Competition IBLA Grand Prize in Italy. His other awards include several scholarships at Mannes College of Music and Russian Academy of Music by Gnessins.
Prior to graduate school Dmitri received his Bachelors Degree at Music College by Ippolitov-Ivanov in Moscow where he studied after graduation from Central Music School at Moscow State Conservatory by Tchaikovsky. Among Dmitris teachers Prof. Alexandrov and Prof. Slesarev were the most influential ones.
