Refined listening and communication skills, with an emphasis on variety of tonal colour and expression. Former career as Senior University Lecturer in Music specialising in Performance Studies means detailed knowledge of a large variety of musical styles and genres is combined with a wealth of teaching as well as accompanying and solo performing experience. Combines a rigorous classically trained perspective with two decades’ experience of working in bands and with unnotated musical idioms. Adopts an enthusiastic, sensitive and disciplined approach, leading to great working relationships. Possesses excellent sight-reading skills, enabling engagements to be undertaken at short notice.

Available to accompany instrumentalists and vocalists for:

 all music grade exams as well as diplomas;
 GCSE and A’level assessments;
 school, college and university entrance auditions;
 music college and university music course examinations;
 festivals and competitions;
 concerts, gigs and any other live or recorded performance work.

Can also support:

 student and professional composers in the realisation of works for recording, assessment or other live performance;
 grade exam candidates in aural test training and preparation.
