Elena Nemtsova's biography

Elena started her musical studies at the age of 5. In 1993 she became a pupil in Special Music School-Lyceum Rimsky-Korsakov with a piano as a first study instrument and composition as a second study. Her piano teacher there was Irina Rjumina and composition teacher was Svetlana Lavrova.
During Elena's studies at the Lyceum she performed as a soloist, composer and in chamber music in many different venues in St-Petersburg such as the Great and Small Philharmonic Halls, Capella, Composer's House, Glazunov's Hall and Hermitage Concert Hall, amongst others.

In 2004 Elena commenced her studies for High Education Diploma in St-Petersburg Conservatoire Rimsky-Korsakov where she did 2 separate 1st study courses as pianist with Professor N. Seregina and a composer with Professor S. Slonimsky.
From 2004 Elena started working as an accompanist and has worked in Vasileostrovskaya Music School, Special Music Lyceum Rimsky-Korsakov and the Conservatoire in the cello class of Professor A. Nikitin.

Elena Nemtsova participated in many different solo, chamber music and composition international masterclasses in Marctoberdorf, Altensteig, Michelstadt and Mozarteum Summer Music Academies in Germany and Austria given by eminent musicians such as Daniel Pollack, Joseph Dorfman, David Geringas, Anthony Spiri, Hatto Baerli, Evgeny Sinayski and Willem Brons. She has been invited to take part as a guest accompanist in Altensteig Academy in the summer 2010.

Elena is a top prizewinner of a various international competitions for composers and chamber music players including such contests as "I am a composer", "Christal Tuning Fork", Maria Yudina Chamber music competition and Piano Duo Festival-Competition "The Window to Europe". In 2008 Elena received a Special Diploma for the best accompanist in the Mravinsky Competition for strings.

In 2009 Elena graduated from St-Petersburg Conservatoire with Distinction and from the autumn 2009 she continued her musical studies doing her Masters degree in Performance with David Jones and Junior Fellowship in Accompaniment at the RNCM in Manchester. Since then Elena has performed in various chamber music festivals in RNCM and had a Young Artist Recital in Wigmore Hall.
This year Elena will be doing the prestigious International Artist Diploma in Chamber Music in RNCM.
