I am experienced in the field of education as well as an accomplished pianist and classically trained singer. I am sought after as an accompanist for well-respected choirs and soloists. I was organist at St Martins, Marple Bridge, playing the Father Willis organ of 1870. I am esteemed especially as a confident sight reader and accompanist by experienced music academics. I am noted for my attention to detail and for my skill in appropriately identifying sections of the music that need to be rehearsed more thoroughly with the soloist or choir.
I am valued as an excellent listener and skilled communicator, for my musical accuracy, careful observation of the tempi and dynamics, plus my natural ability to cooperate professionally with the conductors and musicians. In rehearsals and performances, I can always be relied upon to provide musically effective accompaniments that have enabled their choirs and soloists to rehearse and perform with great ease.
