Ian Green was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Playing piano since he was five years old, Ian enjoys playing all styles of music including jazz, classical, pop, and rock styles. A graduate of Queen's University (BMus, 2006) and the Royal Conservatory of Music at Toronto (A.R.C.T., 2006), Ian is currently a full-time piano and music theory teacher at the Merriam School of Music, located in the G.T.A. He currently lives in the east end of Hamilton, near Stoney Creek, Ontario.
In university, Ian had the opportunity to perform in many diverse musical settings. He was the pianist for the Queen's Jazz Ensemble; he was a rehearsal accompanist for Queen's Musical Theater Company; he was a rehearsal accompanist for Queen's Student Opera Company; he co-founded and performed in a jazz combo; he performed for numerous performance examinations for his classmates as an accompanist; he taught beginner theory and piano lessons.
Ian is currently an active professional accompanist in the G.T.A and surrounding area. He has a large amount of experience working with students of all ages and experience levels for recitals, examinations, and competitions. He is an active substitute church pianist in the Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, and Toronto areas.

He specializes in Classical repertoire, and has worked with many instrumental groupings including: violin, cello, flute, voice, clarinet, saxophone, viola, and many others. He also has experience working within the Musical Theatre genre.
