I am a full-time pianist with over 30 years' experience as an accompanist. I play regularly for ABRSM and Trinity exams, diplomas, auditions and competitions, including BBC Young Musician. I am equally happy in any musical style although classically trained. I can sight-read just about anything although find the greatest satisfaction in working to produce a polished performance. I am accompanist for South West Music School and Mid-Somerset Festival, and work freelance for auditions, including for the National Children's Orchestras and National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
I particularly enjoy accompanying vocalists, but I have a broad repertoire, as I accompany professional and amateur performers on all instruments, for live performance and recordings.
I have been an accompanist since I was 7 when I played hymns for a local church and then for a ballet school throughout my teens. I studied with Caroline Diffley at Kent Music School and with Dennis Dance at the Guildhall. I have a first class music degree from Bristol which included the recital option. As a founder member of Musicians South West (www.musicianssouthwest.com), a collective of professional chamber musicians, I perform in around 100 chamber concerts a year across the west country.
