I played piano throughout grade school, and through my wonderful teacher was able to start accompanying gradually in church services starting in 5th grade. In high school and college I gave piano lessons and continued to accompany for solo/ensemble days, my church's choir, and fellow student instrumentalists. I am now a middle school teacher, but I continue to work as an accompanist at my church, as well as accompanying my class for various musical offerings. After more than 30 years accompanying, I would love to find more opportunities to do it, especially during the summer when I am not teaching.
