More than 20 years professional experience- both solo performances and accompanying, as well as teaching elementary through collegiate level. Excellent sight reader- can play virtually any literature on sight. Jessica Whiddon received her B.A. degree in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University in 2006, where she studied under the Head of the Piano Performance Dept., Dr. Peter Davis. Jessica has won numerous awards for her performances. Among her accomplishments are 1st place winner of the annual Commencement Competition at Bob Jones University, 1st place winner of the NJACS in both classical and sacred divisions, 5 consecutive years, and 1st place winner (harpsichord division) of the New York State Annual Bach Festival, 3 consecutive years. Jessica was also selected to perform at The Julliard School in NYC’s Lincoln Center for the annual Taubman Master Class while studying under Ms. Sondra Tammam (MM, The Juilliard School; Steinway’s Top Teacher 2022). Jessica maintained a private studio of 75 students for more than ten years before shifting her focus to a performance-centered career in piano (and 12 other instruments on which she is proficient). In addition to spending her spare time arranging, orchestrating and recording music for gigs and for church, Jessica loves spending time at home with her husband and three daughters.
Fees
Accompanist fee varies based on level of difficulty/prep involved, as well as travel time. Typically $50/hour for rehearsals, though discount may be available for multiple bookings (i.e. a package deal for multiple rehearsals plus recital/concert.) Accompaniment for recitals/concerts typically starts at $150 for the event, not including possible travel fee.. again, may vary a bit depending on the difficulty of the literature.
