Jessica Yoonjee Lee, Piano

Korea-born Jessica Lee studied piano under the tutelage of Edward J. Parker for seven years in Vancouver. At the age of seventeen and eighteen, she received the Diploma of A.R.C.T. Piano Performer's and Teacher's. She completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from University of British Columbia where she studied with Mark Anderson. Throughout the degree, her academic and performance excellence earned her many scholarships and the Dean's List. In 2017, she has received Master's of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at University of Toronto studying with James Parker and Midori Koga.
Jessica has actively performed solo and chamber repertoire in recitals, music festivals and competitions throughout North America. Her recent duo project with Pei-Chen Chen has had many successful debuts at international duo competitions. In 2018, they won Second Prize and Best Performance of Required Piece at North West International Piano Ensemble Competition, Honourable Mention at Ohio International Piano Duet and Duo Competition, and Third Prize at United States International Duo Piano Competition. At music festivals such as Centre d'Arts Orford in Quebec and National Arts Centre in Ottawa, she has received masterclasses with notable pianists, John Perry, Tatiana Goncharova and Dang Thai Son. She loves to share her passion for music with the community as she enjoys teaching piano and giving concerts at adult care centres. She has given many solo concerts as part University of British Columbia Ambassador, Health Arts Society. Jessica has been awarded in numerous competitive festivals including third place in National Final Round at the 2015 Canadian Music Competition.
Jessica enjoys sharing her passion for music with teaching. She is an instructor at U of T Piano Pedagogy Program, teaching young students and advanced adult students. She also teaches a number of students at Kingsway Conservatory of Music.
