Joan is a Seattle-based solo and collaborative pianist, and educator. She has over fifteen years of experience in collaborative performance and is comfortable accompanying all instruments. Joan was a graduate assistant in the fields of piano pedagogy and collaborative piano at the University of Oregon from 2017-2023. She has won various awards as both a soloist and collaborative pianist, most recently a national prize at the MTNA Stecher and Horowitz Two Piano Competition (2021-22).
Education
D.M.A. (2023) and MMus (2019) from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
BMus (Hons) from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Singapore.
Experience
Chamber Music: various instrumental chamber ensembles ranging from duos to sextets.
Large Ensembles: orchestral pianist and violinist, piano duo with Wind Ensemble
Accompaniment: voice, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, Classical saxophone.
