Jocelyn Abbott has an illustrious accompanying and performing career which began while still a student in Canada when she was chosen by the British Columbia Government to partner its instrumental and vocal candidates in the Canadian National Festival.
Following post graduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music and receipt of the prestigious Recital Diploma in 1979, she went on to perform world-wide as accompanist, soloist, and chamber pianist in the UK, Canada, the United States, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Australia and New Zealand. She has broadcast for the CBC, Radio Canada, BBC, Classic FM, Radio New Zealand and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Jocelyn Abbott is an honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music for distinction in the profession.
She has impeccable qualifications - ARCT, BMus, LRAM, DipRAM, FISM, ARAM - having had many years’ experience working with countless professional singers and instrumentalists globally as a collaborative artist, répétiteur and coach. She has a special interest in working with aspiring young musicians not only in accompaniment but in the coaching of performance techniques including dealing with the anxiety that performance can involve.
