Joshua has studied under the tutorage of Richard McMahon, Mary Dullea and others, achieving a 2:1 Bachelor of Music (Hons.) in Piano Performance (RWCMD).
Growing up in Blackburn, Lancashire, Joshua learnt piano from the age of 9 with local Trish Ferrarin, while studying at QEGS and then Runshaw College, Leyland.
Gaining invaluable teaching experience in his gap year in 2008, Joshua acted as a peripatetic teacher, working privately with children and adults of all ages. He was also employed by Birch Music School as a freelance musician, teaching piano at a local school, and taking music therapy based sessions at The Fountains Psychiatric Rehabilitation Hospital. He is also a supporting piano accompanist for Rhondda Cynon Taff Music Services.
In 2012 he was awarded a Diploma in Teaching by the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. In Joshua's final year, he wrote a dissertation on the Approaches to Personal Piano Practice.
Joshua has a car, and has held a full, clean UK driving licence since 2007 and is happy to travel to give lessons (to a maximum of 10 miles), though there is a variable small supplement for fuel prices.
From July - September 2013, Joshua was the Musician in Residence at the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation in Mumbai, India.
