Julie Chung has played piano since she was 5. She went to Sun-Hwa Arts Middle School in Korea, majoring in piano, Sun-Hwa Arts High School, majoring in music composition. After she earned bachelor's degree in music composition from Seoul National University, she studied jazz and film scoring at Berklee College of Music. Until she got her Master's in music composition from New York University, she has continued to get private piano lesson to master her piano skills. She has various experiences as piano accompanist from classical to popular for many years. She worked as lecturer at Baeksuk University in Korea, and taught classes such as jazz harmony, music arrangement and taught private music composition lessons. Currently, she teaches piano privately, plays piano as an accompanist occasionally, is a keyboardist at church, and regularly visit to perform piano as hospice volunteer. She plays piano professionally, easily transpose music as needed, and is great at sight-reading.
