Kevin Lynch is always in motion. A Berklee-trained producer, composer, and songwriter, he has built a career on his tireless momentum—scoring films, directing musical productions, and collaborating with Broadway legends. Kevin’s boundless curiosity and innovative approach have established him as a sought-after creative partner, blending experience and intuition with seamless collaboration.
Born and raised in Rockland County, New York, Kevin was shaped by his family’s musical roots and work ethic. At five years old, he was playing piano by ear, which later evolved into a rigorous dedication to classical piano, music technology, and composition. But Kevin’s path wasn’t shaped by music alone. Raised by parents in recovery, Kevin witnessed firsthand the power of resilience and ambition, values that continue to define his artistry today.
After earning a degree in Music Education from William Paterson University, Kevin joined The Juilliard School as staff accompanist, and went on to serve as music director for esteemed venues including the Mayo Performing Arts Center and Centenary Stage Company. His collaborations with performers such as Darren Criss (Glee) and Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked) underscore his professionalism and knack for thriving in diverse musical environments. Most recently, Kevin took on the role of musical director for The Wise Women, a Broadway musical in development, whose concert at 54 Below showcased Kevin’s arrangements and musicality.
A natural multi-tasker, Kevin’s extensive experience in theater has taught him how to be quick on his feet. He shines when problem solving on the fly, anticipating the needs of collaborators and guiding creative partners with his deep emotional intelligence. “I approach every project with openness, adaptability, and flexibility,” he says. “And I don’t mind when everything goes wrong. Sometimes that’s the best part, because I can always find an out-of-the-box solution.” Building on this skill set, Kevin is currently pursuing graduate studies in songwriting, film scoring, and music production at Berklee College of Music.
While Kevin sharpened his skills in the high-stakes world of live theater, he is inspired by the permanence of film and television. As a film composer, Kevin has an innate gift for creating evocative arrangements and a passion for pushing themes in unexpected directions while maintaining cohesion. His film scoring credits include Hard Feelings (2022), which earned him the Best Original Score award at the NJ Film Awards, and Equal Opportunity (2023), a project that highlights his narrative instincts and versatility.
Kevin’s engaging personality and expertise have earned him a sizable following on social media, with 45K YouTube subscribers who watch his educational and entertaining content. His channel serves as both a masterclass and a forum for connection, with Kevin sharing his unfiltered reviews of modern musicals, and his encyclopedic knowledge of composition, music technology, and musical theater.
His charisma and cleverly subversive humor also shines in his original songs, drawing comparisons to South Park and The Book of Mormon for their sharp wit and irreverence. His singles like “Abstinence The Musical” are at once vulnerable and profane, testament to an untamable creative spirit that can channel Sondheim and Sandler in equal measure.
Despite his many achievements, Kevin’s ambition and drive remains undiminished. Whether he’s composing award-winning film scores, directing live performances, or writing original songs, he approaches every project with the same momentum and unbridled curiosity that have defined his career.
