Kieley Simonsen Morales is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Masters Degree in Piano Performance/Pedagogy and Organ Performance. She also holds a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from Centenary College of Louisiana. Throughout her academic career, Kieley has had the privilege of studying piano pedagogy with Ivan Hurd, organ with S. Andrew Lloyd, and piano with Kasandra Keeling, Ross Smith, and Cathy DeRousse. While at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Kieley held a Graduate Assistantship in Collaborative Piano, where she played for multiple operas and taught Class Piano as a Graduate Assistant Instructor. Kieley has also performed in various masterclasses with renowned keyboardists, including Ludmila Berlinskaya, Arthur Ancelle, and Jean-Baptiste Robin.
Kieley has a love for collaborating with other musicians. While at Centenary College of Louisiana, she served as the accompanist for the Centenary College Choir, which included over twenty full concerts each year, as well as various local and international tours. Since moving to San Antonio in 2018, Kieley has been an active collaborative pianist in the community. Kieley frequently works with vocalists in both choral and solo settings, but also finds herself regularly collaborating with instrumentalists. Most recently, she served as the collaborative pianist for the 2023 TCDA MS/JH All-State Choir, under the direction of Dr. Charlotte Botha. Kieley is also an active member of the San Antonio Music Teacher’s Association and serves on the board as the 2nd Vice President.
Kieley most recently worked at the Atonement Catholic Academy as the full-time organist and collaborative pianist from 2020-2024. Recent choral concerts include performances of large works, such as Durufle’s Requiem and John Stainer’s The Crucifixion at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church.
Additionally, Kieley maintains a private studio of piano students and enjoys performing two-piano repertoire with her piano duo partner, Cara Lamb.
Although she loves collaborating with vocalists, Kieley also loves to sing herself. She enjoys performing and competing with her Sweet Adeline’s barbershop quartet, Saving Grace, and loves to sing when she’s not at the keyboard.
Kieley currently works at University Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas as the Assistant Director of Traditional Music and as the Administrator for the Fine Arts Center.
