Hi There!
I am a contemporary pianist who's been playing for 22 years, and accompanying for 12 of them! I am the person to go to if you need a versatile accompanist who is as comfortable reading lead sheets/chord charts and improvising as they are reading completely notated scores, classical, theatre, pop/rock, or otherwise. I have a diverse array of experience accompanying choirs, classical vocalists, instrumental chamber ensembles, rock/pop vocalists, musicals, improvisational theatre, burlesque, and cabaret. I work as a freelance musician and teacher, and my current projects include playing in a rock band, a swing-era big band, and my own jazz project. I am a singer myself as well, so I understand the challenges working with a new pianist or even singing against accompaniment for the first time can present. I can provide coaching for contemporary vocal techniques (jazz, rock, and musical theatre styles), help with arrangement of the song, and even assist in key selection (transposing a piece to another key is not a problem!).

I received my Bachelor of Music from Webster University in St. Louis, MO in 2009. I was a jazz performance major there, but I worked with the opera and choral departments as a rehearsal accompanist while earning my degree. I earned my Master of Music from New York University in 2011, also in jazz performance. While there, I taught as an adjunct professor of piano and accompanied many small ensembles and improvisational theatre projects.

Fees

$ 50.00 Dollars Per Hour
Generally I charge $50 per hour (plus any materials I would need to buy or studio time I would need to book). This rate is negotiable if the client wants to book multiple hours at once. I am happy to work with your budget! If there is a great deal of preparation involved on my part (very long or intricate score) I may ask for a rehearsal stipend for the time spent rehearsing the music outside of the official rehearsal.

I can also do chart/sheet music preparation: transposing a piece to the performance key and notating it in Finale, notating the performance arrangement of a piece for a band in Finale... for this, I charge $25 for the first page, and $15 for every page after that (again, I can work with a budget if the client requests multiple pieces, or wants a score notated for multiple instruments). I will email you a PDF of the finished product for printing, with a typical turnaround time of 1-2 business days.
