Lydia Davies began playing the piano at the age of three. Learning by ear at such a young age, her parents realised she had a remarkable talent and placed her in to the Yamaha music school at the age of five. With leaps and bounds she skipped through many levels of the Yamaha music course and was asked to join the Junior Advanced Composition class where Lydia's music teachers discovered she had perfect pitch and an ability to explore the realm of composition with ease.
Throughout her childhood and youth years, Lydia completed her grade 8 AMEB piano and grade 5 theory. Today Lydia enjoys improvising and and composing in the areas of song-writing, jingles, film score writing and orchestral music.
Lydia also has worked with some very reputable music artist such as Renee Geyer as a session player, performs regularly with bands around Melbourne, and teaches the piano.
Lydia is renowned for her unique, remarkable touch and feel she expresses when she plays the piano. Her beautiful melodic and harmonic chords, and improvisational skills she has "Sends shivers down your spine"( Garnder Cole).
