I studied piano with a private conservatory trained piano teacher once a week for 11 years of my childhood. My final recital piece was Frederic Chopin's Revolutionary Etude. I did not major in music in college, but instead again pursued private piano study until college graduation in 1969. Since then, I have had several brief stints of study (1-2 yrs each) with a jazz pianist, with a conservatory piano teacher, with a conservatory organ teacher. Across the span of my life, I have 11 years of experience as a church pianist, with 5-6 of those years also playing the organ and directing the choir. I was in Sweet Adelines for 3 years, and sang with a 300 voice church choir here in Kansas City for 10 years. I started teaching piano in 1990 with only 1-2 students. In 1992, I began teaching fulltime at Meyer Music in Overland Park, KS. In 1994, I began teaching independently, and I continue to do that to this day. This past fall, I began accompanying the choir at the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Hill, MO. I am definitely open to do accompanist work in Jackson and Cass Counties, Missouri. I would consider (as in "think about") taking an assignment in Clay County, Missouri or Johnson County, Kansas.
