Matthew Philip Jones read Music at the University of Durham, and was awarded the Wallis Organ Scholarship at St. John's College in 1997. He studied organ under Alan Hindle in Nottingham, and subsequently under Keith Wright, Sub-Organist at Durham Cathedral. As an active composer, his works include choral and orchestral music, and scores for dramatic productions. Having spent ten years as a Director of Music and College Organist in independent education, he is now pursuing a career as a freelance music teacher, organist, pianist, composer and musical director.
Matthew Philip Jones is Director of Music at the parish church of St Peter & St Paul, Syston, Musical Director of The Chanterelders Choir in Leicester, and Principal Accompanist for Peterborough Voices and Peterborough Youth Choir. He is also a regular concert accompanist with the award-winning Peterborough Male Voice Choir.
