A native of Korea, pianist Mi Yeon Han has performed numerous concerts as a chamber musician and collaborative pianist with wide-ranging repertoire both in vocal and instrumental in the United States and South Korea.
After she joined VOCES INTIMAE for a complete performance of Wolf's Italienisches Liederbuch in Dallas, Texas, Scott Cantrell of the Dallas Morning News wrote: "Star of the show was pianist Mi Yeon Han, whose luminous, unforced tone and telling inflections caught the ear again and again."
Ms. Han has recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in collaborative piano at the Boston University studying with Shiela Kibbe.
She received her master degree at the Peabody Conservatory where she studied vocal coaching with Eileen Cornett. As a graduate assistant for the Peabody Opera Theatre, she has served as assistant coach and pianist for productions of Le Nozze di Figaro, Les Contes DHoffmann, and The Turn of the Screw. She earned her Bachelors degree in piano performance at Ewha Womens University in Korea. Her teachers have included Yeon Hee Choi, Eun Ah Ha, and Hea Eun Suk . Ms. Han has served as a principal pianist for the numerous choirs and an assistant teacher at Hanguk Christian Music Conservatory in Korea.
In addition, she has participated in summer music camps in Dusseldorf, Germany and Vienna, Austria. Recently she has served as a pianist to the Horn and Trumpet workshops at Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
