Moon Sun Song was selected as a representative of the University of Sydney to take exchange program at the Hochschüle für Musik, Freiburg in Germany where she received a Baden-Württemberg Stipendium scholarship. She has been accepted into the Master of Music Studies (Accomp) at the Conservatorium of Music, in which she is studying with David MillerAM, Daniel Herscovitch and Maree Ryan after completing her undergraduate degree with David Miller and Elizabeth Powell in 2008. In 2009, she had two recitals with professors at the Conservatorium including Michael Halliwell, Georg Pedersen and James Kortum. For her graduation, she had her solo recital in 2007 and two accompaniment recitals with Soprano Simone Easthope and Violinist Nan Heo in 2008, achieving outstanding result.
She is a committed, passionate accompanist who has dreamt of playing the piano. In 2004, she gained her AMusA diploma with distinction and accompanied a lot of singers in many Eisteddfods including McDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge and Ryde where they received number of awards. She is in demand for AMEB exams, competitions and various other concerts including Manly Music Festival, bushfire fundraising and retirement villages(Bowden Brae, Normanhurst). She is also a valued member of the staff of Meriden Ladies College where she provides piano lessons and accompanies the senior choir and instrumentalists. She is also a casual organist at the Waitara Catholic Church and has experience in conducting junior orchestra where she learns to take responsibility.
The upcoming recital will be with Prof. Goetz Richter in June, 2010 and a lecture recital on ‘Music Speaks: Music enriches words with emotional energy that speech alone cannot convey’ with Soprano Simone Easthope.
