I'm Nacho Ojeda, a 28 year-old NYC-based pianist, originally from Sevilla (Spain). I hold a Bachelor Degree in Piano from the Royal Conservatory of Madrid (Madrid, Spain), as well as a Master's Degree in Classical Piano from the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland), and another Master's Degree in Contemporary Piano from the Manhattan School of Music (NYC, US).
My experience in piano accompaniment is extensive, since I have been working in the field consistently since the age of 13, in a wide variety of environments and genres. As an accompanist, I have worked with string players, wind players and singers, in classical settings, early music settings and New Music. I have participated in a myriad of theatre productions, that include operas, musical theatre, ballets and zarzuelas, having myself musically directed three big stage pieces (Hello Again, musical theatre show by Michael LaChiusa, A Little Night Music, by Stephen Sondheim, and La Tabernera del Puerto, zarzuela show by Pablo Sorozábal). I have as well collaborated with several artists from the pop world.
My areas of specialization are contemporary music or New Music, and musical theatre. In the realm of New Music, I have worked with a variety of ensembles and emerging composers. In the world of Musical Theatre, aside from the work mentioned above, I am an accompanist at the prestigious NYC-based theatre school and company The Barrow Group.
Aside from this, I have to say that I really enjoy being a piano accompanist, and that I will strive for the work we do together to be both productive and fun at equal parts. You can expect me to be well-prepared for rehearsals and performances.
