Nataliya Medvedovskaya, a professional, experienced, award winning concert/rehearsal pianist, accompanist and composer, was born on October 2nd, 1974, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She has been playing piano from 6 years old. She has been performing on the stage for more than 25 years.
Graduated with a double major in piano performance and music composition from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.
Received both of her diplomas at the International Piano Competition "Young Virtuosi" (1989, Czech Republic), one of them awarded for "culture of performance, musicality, and deep understanding of music." Since her childhood piano activities, she was distinguished with a really beautiful, deep, singer-like and sophisticate piano sound that was mentioned by many professors of St. Petersburg Conservatory.
Since 2003, she has been living,performing and composing in New York City.
She has performed with various singers and instrumentalists as well as solo in different genres in prestigious venues, including debuts in Weill (Carnegie) Recital Hall, Steinway Hall , Bechstein Piano Centre, Thalia Symphony Space, NY Public Library and Austrian Cultural Forum.
She gave a solo recital dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth at the New York Public Library in the Bronx during July 2006.
She performs new, contemporary music as a member of the New York Composers Circle, to honorable acclaim of the New York Stringer Magazine.
Nataliya has fluent skills in sight-reading, playing by ear, improvisation, and learning music by other composers in a very short time span.
Recently recorded a piano accompaniment to 22 art songs by rachmaninov for the Mapleshade Records label for the newly released CD entitled: Rachmaninov, The Impassioned Songwriter.
