When Nick Blount pushed his parents to enroll him at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School in Augusta, GA at the age of 11, family and friends doubted that his passion for piano would become much more than a passing phase. Nearly 20 years later, Nick’s passion for music and inheritance of a third-generation gift for the keys has paved the way for a small-town musician and Pastor’s kid to a concrete career as a professional musician. Nicholas Blount’s track record as an experienced producer, songwriter, and professional musician boasts an impressive lineup of Grammy-winning artists and legendary musicians such as Esperanza Spaulding, Karen Clark Sheard, Andraé Crouch, Byron Cage, George Duke, and Sheila E.
Nick did enroll at Davidson and went on to win All-State Chorus all four years of high school, All-District Chorus six years running, and All-County chorus for seven years. After being nominated for Georgia’s Governor’s Honors Program, Nicholas broke away from those small-town limits to study Professional Music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He trained with accomplished instructors like Dennis Montgomery and Jetro DaSilva, and played for countless concerts and ensembles, furthering his proficiency in Contemporary, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Neo-soul, and Gospel styles of piano and organ.
Nick Blount’s childhood passion and gift bleeds through his fingertips with each note he plays, and continues to propel him to the sky’s limits. Nick’s foray into professional songwriting and production is only beginning, yet he’s already sessioned with chart-topping producers like Get Cool, Blac Elvis, Makeeba Riddick, and Andre Ellis. In addition to his stellar chops on keys, Nick’s well-versed and self-taught on industry standard programs like Pro Tools, Logic, Reason, and highly knowledgeable in audio technology and computer technology. As Nick’s list of credits continues to grow, so will his ever-mounting determination to exceed and excel above the expectations set before him.
