Oscar Sarre is an Australian composer and pianist. Currently studying at the James Morrison Academy of Music, Oscar has worked with acclaimed national jazz artists such as Angela Davis, Mat Jodrell, Carl Mackey, Grant Windsor and Tony Gould. Oscar’s musical influences range from modern jazz, classical, pop and contemporary genres. Oscar enjoys performing live and loves expressing his inner voice and emotions through music.
In 2017, Oscar’s original music was awarded Best Original Score in the 48 hour film project Adelaide. In 2019 Oscar toured with Australian Jazz trio (The N.R trio) around South Eastern Australia, playing at famous jazz venues such as The Jazzlab (MLB), Smith’s Alternative (CAN), Lazybones Bar (SYD) and The Gov (ADL). He also recorded an album with this trio which will be released in 2020. Oscar is an active volunteer at the Australian jazz festival Generation’s In Jazz and volunteered at International Jazz Day in Melbourne, 2019. In 2019 he performed with his self titled trio at Morrison’s Jazz Club, Mount Gambier.
Oscar is currently recording his original work and his favourite jazz tunes for an EP.
