Professional accompanist with excellent knowledge of a wide range of chamber music repertoire, many years of experience, excellent sight-reader, improvisation skills,

Pianist and musicologist. Graduated from the Prague Conservatory in the class of Vl. Topinka in 1996 and continued her studies at the Charles University of Prague from where she received her Master’s degree in Musicology.

In 2003 Ourania was awarded a Teaching Assistantship from the University of Iowa. There she studied piano with prof. Uriel Tsachor and got her postgraduate degree on Piano Performance in 2006. She performed extensively, both as a soloist as well as a pianist in chamber music recitals.

She holds the diploma Laureat de l’ Academie de Lausanne and has been invited to participate in Music Festivals in U.S., where she performed with internationally recognized musicians including Peter Zazofsky, Doriot Anthony Dwyer, Terry King, Annette-Barbara Vogel and others. Ourania has given recitals in Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Norway, Iceland and the U.S. She has recorded for the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), the Icelanding Radio, KNPR in Las Vegas and for the Ceský Rozhlas.

As a musicologist Ourania has been researching and studying the piano music of the 19th and 20th century as well as the music of the Czech composer Leoš Janacek . During her studies in the U.S. she gave several lecture–recitals on Janacek’s piano music and on the Czech piano music of the 20th century. She did extended research in piano music of the Greek composer Nikos Skalkottas and further studies in contemporary European piano music.

Since October 2011 she is working on a research project about Solo Piano Music after 1945 at Goldsmiths University, London.
