Rachel Orloske began her piano studies at the age of four in her native country of Taiwan. She was a winner of several piano competitions within this residence. After achieving awards at the Taiwan National Piano and Kawai Piano Competitions, Dr. Orloske decided to further her skills in the United States in 1996 as a student at New England Conservatory of Music. Throughout her experiences, she has studied with Hsin-I Chen, Victor Rosenbaum, Jacob Maxin, David Westfall and world famous pianist Boris Berman.
Since moving to the United States, Dr. Orloske’s performances as a soloist with orchestra include appearances with the Hartt School Symphony Orchestra, Central Connecticut State University’s Orchestra and the New England Youth Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Orloske has also performed in major music festivals which include The Tanglewood Institute and Aspen Music Festival.
In conjunction with initiating her private piano studio since year 2000, Dr. Orloske continues to develop her own set of pedagogical philosophies while teaching a variety of ages and levels. Due to her students receiving awards in local and states competitions, their acceptance to top universities and conservatories have occurred around the world. In addition to her own private piano studio, Rachel Orloske has taught piano performance at Hartt School of Music as a teaching fellow.
Rachel Orloske received her Bachelor of Music Degree from New England Conservatory of Music, Master of Music Degree and Doctoral Degree from Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. She currently resides in Katy, Texas, with her husband Christopher and two daughters.
