Robert studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Yonti Solomon (piano) and Nick Danby (organ.) At the RCM he won the top GRSM student award and the accompanist's prize, Earl of Dalhousie award and Knights of the Round Table prize, among other awards. He also studied accompaniment with Geoffrey Parsons. Robert has over 30 years experience working with singers and instrumentalists so his repertoire is very wide and his sight-reading is excellent. Robert taught music in schools for 14 years and loves working with young people. With his wife, Kim, Robert formed an oboe and piano duo and they perform across the east of Scotland together. Robert has been the regular accompanist for Tayside Opera since 2012 and he also plays occasionally for Fife Opera and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. Robert is available for recitals, auditions and accompaniment for diplomas.
