As an international performer, Sara Leila Sherman has performed as soloist and chamber musician in Ukraine, Italy, France, and throughout the United States, including New York City.
Sara has accompanied numerous vocalists and instrumentalists. Her instrumental repertoire includes pieces for flute, cello, violin, trumpet, and bassoon. In addition to accompanying Sara has performed in many chamber groups from piano trios and klezmer music.
Honors and achievements include NJMTA, Young Artists' Competition, Heritage Music Festival, and Leschetizky Young Gifted Artists Concert in New York City. Sara has been rewarded scholarships at Casalmaggiore International Festival in Italy, International Music Festival in Ukraine, and Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina. Other honors include participating in the Académie Internationale de Courchevel in France and winning the Sylvia Denbo Memorial Scholarship.
Sara received a Master of Music degree and Professional Studies certificate in piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music with Jeffrey Cohen. A scholarship recipient from Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, Sara completed her undergraduate degree, where she studied with Luba Edlina-Dubinsky, pianist of the famous Borodin Trio.
An active soloist and accompanist, Sara's recent performances include the Performance Series of Yamaha Artist Services, Inc in New York City, Klezmer concerts under the tutelage of reknowned KIezmer clarinetist, David Krakauer, guest artist in the Alexandria Performing Arts Society, and performances with Project 60/40.
Sara has been featured in the New York Times. After a master class performance by Sara, Grammy award winner, Peter Nero, was quoted in the Courier Post as saying her playing left him "speechless."
