Sarah Jarvinen, a native of Oregon, began studying piano at the age of 5 and was featured twice with the Corvallis Youth Symphony, performing Saint-Saën's Carnival of the Animals and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Sarah earned her Bachelor's of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied composition with Elinor Armer. She received her Master's of Science Teaching in Music from Portland State where she also worked as a graduate teaching assistant, and her main assignments were accompanying choir and opera workshop. Sarah is currently learning the organ and is studying with Douglas Schneider. An avid fan of ballet, Sarah is currently a dance accompanist at the Classical Ballet Academy in Sellwood. She is also a member of Oregon Music Teachers Association.
