Scott is a long-time Maryland resident who has musically directed/accompanied/conducted/performed in multiple musical theater, classical, and other arenas for more than 20 years. He spent his youth studying classical music and performed in his first piano recital at Princeton University at the age of 8. In high school, he began accompanying singers and vocal groups and fell in love with this facet of music. After college, he ventured into the musical theater realm after moving to the Washington, DC area and accompanied many community theater productions before moving into Music Direction. Since 2000, he has Music Directed a number of award-winning community theater productions and was the proud recipient of the 2007 Washington Theater Community Honor for Outstanding Musical Direction of Into the Woods. In 2013, he had the opportunity to Musically Direct legendary TV/stage actress Sally Struthers in The Full Monty at Riverside Dinner Theater in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and he then accompanied Ms. Struthers in her 1-woman show at the Totem Pole Playhouse in Caledonia, Pennsylvania.
Despite his varied background, Scotts favorite activity is accompanying singers, stage productions, and classical and other soloists and groups. He loves the collaborative process and is a great listener.
