Sherin Moustafa is an accomplished pianist and exceptional teacher. Born in Egypt with Taiwanese heritage, Sherin speaks fluent Chinese and English, and understands basic Japanese, Arabic, German, Italian, and French. Her cultural background allows her to develop a worldview and an appreciation for both western and eastern music. Not surprisingly, Sherin fell in love with music at a young age because it has both the creative and serene elements that she saw in herself.
Sherin has a masters degree in Collaborative Piano Performance and a bachelors degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University. Currently residing in Tempe, Arizona, Sherin serves as the assistant organist at Victory Lutheran Church and assistant choir director/accompanist at Perry High School. She is a versatile pianist specializing in classical, music theatre, contemporary, cabaret and other popular genres, and is often invited to perform at special events because of her ability to provide a captivating performance. Her passion for music and vibrant personality not only make her a mesmerizing performer, but also an effective piano teacher.
During her professional music career, Sherin has established herself as a successful pianist. She was a recipient of Neely Music Talent Scholarship and has received many awards from competitions, such as the East Valley Piano Competition. She has also performed at Katzin Concert Hall and Kerr Cultural Center of Arizona State University both as a soloist and a collaborative pianist. Last year, Perry High Schools concert choir where Sherin serves as the assistant music director and the accompanist has won the Superior Award at the Heritage Festival. As a result, they were invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall, New York City in March 2012.
Sherin is a proud member of East Valley Music Teacher Association (EVMTA) and Music Teacher National Association (MTNA). With an open mind and humble attitude, Sherin continues to grow and develop as a pianist so that she can bring even more enjoyable music to her audience.
Fees
$ 35.00 Dollars Per Hour
Most vocal accompaniments and coachings are $35.00 an hour. Depends on the difficulty level of the instrumental music and the collaboration work, the fee may be higher.
