Born in China, British-Chinese pianist Simone Wang is highly praised for her sensitivity and musical interpretations with performances delighting audiences all over the UK, mainland Europe and the Far East. She has recently made her US solo debut at Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall. Originally a student of ballet major at the Shanghai Ballet School, China, Simone later moved to the UK and was offered a place to study piano at the Chetham's School of Music for Gifted Children, and received her Bachelors of Music degree at the Royal College of Music in London, UK studying with British pianist Dr Kenneth Weir, Bernard Roberts, the late Yonty Solomon, Gordon Fergus-Thompson and Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, New York with Phillip Kawin.
Simone has extensive experience as an accompanist and chamber musician. As an opera accompanist, she has toured Italy with singers of the Washington National Opera and received invitation from Maestro Placido Domingo to join the Young Artist Program as a repetiteur. As a ballet accompanist, she has played for the Boston Ballet, Jose Mateo Ballet Theater Cambridge, Massachusetts; Joan Hewson's professional class at London’s Pineapple Studio, London Contemporary Dance School in London and Katherine Smith's class at Steps on Broadway in New York City.
