Lana Em was born and raised in Arkhangelsk city, Russia, where she started piano in music school at age 5. She received her Bachelor's degree from the Music college in Arkhangelsk and her Master's from the Academy of Arts in Samara, Russia. After emigrating to the USA, she continued her piano education at the world renowned Music Conservatory of San-Francisco, CA under Richard Rodgers. In addition she had the privilege to work with such outstanding musicians as Michael Goodwin, conductor of the Auburn symphony orchestra, Noah Horstock (viola), Dionisio Martinez (clarinet) at the Apollo Arts, CA.
Her greatest enjoyment is playing chamber music; this is why, moving to Maryland, she became a member FMMC. She has performed in MD, VA and DC with duo and trio ensembles since 2009. She also takes pleasure in accompanying talented young musicians on county and state competitions and festivals. After 12 years living in MD, Lana recently moved to Sarasota FL and continue her music career sunny paradise.

08/2021 - present time Accompanist to Alejandro Mendoza’ (professor of Manhattan School of Music) violin class.
2010 - 2021 Accompanist to Yakov Shapiro’ (the concertmaster of Potomac Philharmonic Orchestra and leading violin teacher) class.
2009-2021 FMMC, chamber ensemble, MD
2010-2011Invited pianist to perform with CSSEast orchestra ( Vietnamese Association).
