TAN Yan Zhang (b. 1998) is a Singaporean pianist, composer and conductor. He received his early music training in piano performance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) School of Young Talents, and attained his DipABRSM in Piano Music Performance in 2011.
Tan’s works have been commissioned and performed extensively in Singapore by the Singapore Community Saxophone Ensemble, the SMU Symphonia Saxophone Quartet, Ensembles of the Flute & Music Academy (Singapore), the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Symphonic Band, the Fairfield Symphonic Band, the Crescent Girls' School Symphonic Band, the Philharmonic Winds, the Mus’Art Wind Orchestra, the Singapore Wind Symphony, and the Singapore Armed Forces Bands. His music has also been featured as part of the People's Association Community Music Time, the “Singapore: A Musical Celebration” series, the "Esplanade Presents" and "Limelight Concert" Programme, as well as the Singapore Press Holdings Gift of Music Series.
Tan was appointed Associate Conductor and Resident Composer of the Singapore Community Saxophone Ensemble in 2013. He studies composition with Tan Chan Boon and Kelly Tang.
