Dr. Tatiana Shustova is a highly accomplished pianist and educator originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She obtained her education at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg before furthering her studies in the United States.
She completed the Artist's Certificate Program and a Master’s degree in piano performance at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Dr. Shustova was also awarded the Smith Fellowship to pursue a doctoral program in piano performance at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she earned her DMA in Spring 2013.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shustova has made appearances at prestigious festivals in the United States and Europe, such as the Orfeo Music Festival, Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, and the Ionian Summer Music Academy, among others. Tatiana has received numerous awards in solo and chamber music competitions.
She has also excelled as a collaborative pianist, having worked at various institutions, including Mussorgsky State College in Saint Petersburg, Bowling Green State University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Millikin University and Bradley University.
Currently serving as an adjunct faculty lecturer at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Shustova has held previous music faculty positions at Millikin University School of Music and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, she is a president of World Piano Teachers Association Illinois Chapter and is Artistic Director and founder of the Chambana International Music Competition.
In January 2024 Tatiana released her debut CD with Centaur Records of piano pieces by Prokofiev, Op. 75 “ Romeo and Juliette” and Sibelius, Op. 75 “ The Trees”. Recently this recording got Silver Medal award in classical category from Global Music Awards.
