British pianist Tiffany Buxton is recognised for her “sense of poetry”, “refined touch … and all-rounded musical personality” (The Straits Times). Born in Singapore, Tiffany started playing the piano at the age of four and made her professional debut at Singapore’s Esplanade aged eight. Since then she has performed all over Britain in venues such as St Martin-in-the-Fields, Southwark Cathedral, St Mary’s Perivale, St Ann's Church, Warwick Arts Centre and South Hill Park Arts Centre. She has also given numerous concerts abroad and was recently invited to perform Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto with the Singapore Youth Orchestra in Victoria Concert Hall.

Tiffany was awarded 1st Prize at the 7th Asia Arts Festival (2019) and subsequently gained national acclaim at Singapore’s 12th National Piano & Violin Competition (2020). She was also one of ten finalists selected to compete for the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship (2020). Early on in her career, she was awarded the Marion Smith Memorial Trophy at the West London Pianoforte Festival, the Emanuel Trophy at the North London Music Festival, and the Gold Medal at the Singapore Youth Festival.

Tiffany began her studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (School of Young Talents) in Singapore, where she studied under the former Head of Keyboard, Rena Phua. She continued her studies in London with Hilary Coates, and at the Royal Northern College of Music with Colin Stone. During her studies, she participated in masterclasses and received guidance from renowned pianists such as Stephen Hough, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Philippe Cassard, Philip Fowke, Graham Scott, Ashley Wass, Frank Wibaut, Stephen Savage, William Fong and Christopher Elton.

As a chamber musician, Tiffany was a founding member of the Buxton Trio, with whom she regularly performs throughout the UK. Her interest in contemporary music also led her to perform in the world premiere of Simon Parkin's Goldberg Jazz Variations, and she was subsequently invited to perform as an orchestral pianist with the RNCM Wind Orchestra conducted by Christian Lindberg. In 2022, their performance of Andrea Tarrodi’s ‘Seamounts’ was recorded and released on the European Gramophone label.

Now based in London, Tiffany works as a Practice Supervisor & Staff Accompanist at The Purcell School, where she enjoys working closely with some of the country’s most gifted young musicians.
