William Schmidt has LMusA with Distinction and two Masters degrees in piano performance from the University of Melbourne and the Music and Arts University of Vienna, Austria. He works regularly as a collaborative pianist and accompanist with organisations including Box Hill Chorale, Promac Productions, the Art of Sound Orchestra, Victoria Chorale, the Ringwood Eisteddfod, the Monash Youth Music Festival, Cantate Singers, the National Institute of Youth Performing Arts, Sing Australia and Suzuki Music, and is a sought-after accompanist for exams and recitals at the Sir Zelman Cowan School of Music at Monash University and the AMEB.
William is also an accomplished solo pianist and composer, and has performed many solo piano recitals in Melbourne and interstate, including live-to-air performances on 3MBS radio and ABC Classic FM. He has received awards and scholarships from the Australian Music Foundation, the Australian National Piano Award, the University of Melbourne, and many competitions.
